Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox's parents include Dorothy Farquharson and Thomas Allison Lennox. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the full name given to her parents. Lennox was accepted to the Royal Academy of Music in London in the 70s, where she studied the flute piano and the harpsichord over three years. Lennox made it through on a student's stipend as well as working part-time in order to earn a living. Lennox decided to change her career path when she was dissatisfied with her lack of skill in comparison with the other Royal Academy students. Lennox performed flute in the band Dragons Playground. However, she left before the band was asked to participate in I.T.V.'s talent contest New Faces. She was the lead singer for The Tourists (a British popband) between 1977 and 1980. It was here that she met Dave Stewart and together they created their duo Eurythmics. Lennox collaborated on her solo debut record Diva. It came out in 1993. Commercially and critically, it was an enormous achievement. Nostalgia Lennoxs 6th solo album came out in October of 2014. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul jazz tracks from her early years. Lepidoptera, a collection four piano improvisations, was released by Lennox in May 2019. The E.P. is a companion piece of her artwork at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art entitled Now I Let You go... The album is the first time she has released an independent album. Annie Lennox born December 25 1954 is a Scottish activist, politician and philanthropist. She is also a music producer and singer. In the late 70s, she gained a little fame when part the group known as The Tourists. She and Dave Stewart then gained international fame in the 1980s when they formed Eurythmics. Lennox began her solo career in 1992 with the release of Diva, which featured a number of successful songs like Why as well as walking on Broken Glass. Medusa is a studio album, features the cover versions of some popular tracks like No MoreI Love Yous andA Whiter Shade of Pale. Her solo catalog includes six studio albums as well as a compilation album to her credit. |
